Instructions
- Select the states you would like to search by clicking on the circle in front of each state's name.
- Enter the name of the company you want to find.
- Click the 'Search' button.
- You can also select states by clicking directly on the map or using the region checkboxes above the search box.
- When matches are found, they will be shown in a results table below the search box.
- You can further narrow results without performing a new search by typing in the 'Filter' box above the results table.
- You can directly visit any state's official corporation search page by clicking on the link icon
after the state's name. It will open in a new tab. - States with a turtle icon
can be slow to search. Please allow up to five minutes for these states to complete. - For some states, you can visit the company detail page for individual matches. These will be indicated with a link icon next to the company name in the results table.
- You can also click on the name of a state in the results table to visit the state's corporation search page.
Secretary of State Search
This tool allows you to search multiple state corporation registries simultaneously. These public registries are maintained in each state by the office of the local secretary of state (or equivalent) and constitute an official record of the legal registration of companies for that state. By using this tool, you authorize United States Corporation Directory to perform individual searches on your behalf for each of the states selected. All results are live. If a state's data service is down due to maintenance or technical difficulties, it will not be possible to get results for that state while the outage persists. Please note that this service is under ongoing development. We always appreciate feedback to help us eliminate bugs, decide on new features, and improve your experience.
